Abstract

This research aims to uncover the role of social capital in the success of the Tina-Ado pair in the 2020 Regional Head Election in Mamuju Regency. Through a qualitative approach, the study found that the social capital possessed by the candidates, such as extensive social networks, community trust, and active participation in social activities, were determining factors in their victory. The candidates' ability to leverage this social capital, including through social activities, community-oriented programs, and established relationships, led to their triumph over the incumbent candidate. This research highlights the importance of social capital in local politics and provides implications for understanding the dynamics of regional elections in Indonesia.
